The ghost pepper, also known as bhut jolokia (lit. Eating acidic food like lemons, oranges, lime, pineapple, or tomatoes also neutralizes the capsaicin, bringing instant relief. Removal of it (often done when removing seeds), helps decrease the overall spiciness. Bhut jolokia are aptly nicknamed ghost peppers because they are so spicy.
